elks-home-page2In partnership with our community, The Historic Molly Butler Lodge (Greer, AZ), our parents and students, it is our mission at Round Valley High School to provide high-quality academic and social learning experiences that will foster continued success for all learners.

A Note From Our Faculty Advisor at ELKS Radio, Ms. Starlene Hill:

I am excited about the unique new opportunity that ELKS Radio brings to our community and to our students here at Round Valley High School.  Among other skills and benefits the program brings, producing their own radio shows allows our students to talk about something that interests them and gives them the opportunity to express themselves in a positive, productive way.  The objective for this program is to help students build stronger communication skills, self-discipline and self-esteem, learn team work, forge lifelong friendships, and help open doors to a potential future career choice!

Our station, “ELKS Radio,” will be located in a classroom in the High Tech Center at the school.  The students who will serve as producers and on air hosts are excited and have already claimed ownership and have begun outfitting the ELKS Radio station.  We have numerous shows in development, such as “The Power Slide” by Val Udal, “Dear Sarai” by Sarai Gonzalez, “Behind the Indie” by Leighton Shumway, and “The Power in You” by Samantha Rodriguez.  Each show focuses around the student host’s passion or interest.

Since we started planning for the launch of this program, I have already seen changes students.  Their enthusiasm and self-esteem is higher.  They are excited and motivated to do well in their current classes.  They are developing strong bonds with one other and are working as a team to set up the station and create shows.  On a larger scale, this is truly what life is all about.

It was the owner of Molly Butler Lodge in Greer, Allan Johnson, who introduced the program to me and to the School Board.  He is committed to the success of this program and plans to provide a variety of resources and financial support.  With enthusiastic support from Molly Butler Lodge in Greer, Arizona and the rest of our community and its other businesses, there is no doubt that this program and our students will succeed.  Would you like to get involved?  Would you like to be a featured ELKS Radio Champion and receive exposure through ads and feature stories on your business?  Please let us know: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
